October 11. The Rev. Father Ilickson, S.M., returned from Methven on Saturday. St. Mary's branch of the H.A.C.B. Society held their fortnightly meeting in Ozana-m Lodge on Monday evening, the president (Bro. J. Kaveney) being in the chair. Bro. H. J. Johnston was nominated for the position of secretary in place of Bro. F. Wilson, who leaves for Trentham. The Rev. Father Hoare, S.M. (chaplain), was present and, addressing the members, suggested ways and means of making the meetings more interesting. As. a beginning Bro. Roche, V.P., \ • will read a prepared paper on some current topic . ■ ' After further consideration, the members of the parish committee have decided to hold the picnic at ; Rangiora instead of Amberley.
