(From our own correspondent.) May 20. Very Rev. Dean Holley left on Monday for Wellington to attend the celebrations in connection with the jubilee of. his Grace Archbishop Redwood. An entertainment is being organised in aid of the furnishing of the Convent School. Mr. Arthur Towsey (organist of St. Mary's) is in charge of the musical arrangements. The first part of the programme will include a double ballet under Mrs. Connop. A large orchestra is being organised for the affair, and the scenery for both first and second parts is being painted by Mr. Horace Melville, who has a high reputation as a scenic artist. The stage management-will be in the hands of Mr. G. J. Fama. It is the intention of the promoters that the entertainment will be used as a stepping-stone to an operatic society, which is to be formed immediately after the entertainment. ••• Sixty-eight children made their First Communion at St. Mary's on Sunday, May 5, at the 7.30 o'clock Mass, which was celebrated by the Rev. Father Moloney, S.M., who also delivered a sermon on the Blessed Eucharist. During the day there was Exposition of the

Blessed Sacrament and a procession in the evening. The sermon was by the Very Rev. Dean Holley, S.M., who preached on the renewal.of the. Baptismal vows.
