(From our own correspondent.) September 9. This week's mail from Capetown brought news of the wreck of the Maori on the South African coast. Mr. J. Bowler, of Napier, received a letter from his son, Mr. Frederick Bowler, an ex-pupil of the Marist Brothers, who, at the time, was the fourth engineer on the ill-fated vessel. Mr. Bowler gives a very interesting account of .the wreck, the sufferings of the crew, and the difficulties and dangers experienced in attempting to get to the shore.
