Christian Brothers' School, Dunedin

The Ot'&3o "Schools' athletic championships took place on the Caledonian, Grounds, ;Dunedin, on Saturday last. Despite the inclemency cf 'the weather the meeting was a pronounced success. The pupils of the Chnistian Brothers' school repeated last year's phenomenal successes, " securing 16 firsts, out of a possiUe 24, or 20 silver medals out of 30 awarded. These successes are highly meritorious when >c consider that 24 of the leading schools of Otago -were -represented, and that there were over 550 competitors. To «h o w what a fine all round team of boys represented the Christian Brothers' school, we need only ; mention that besides carrying off 16 firsts, they also took 14 seconds, each carryin^ with it a bronze medal, and ."seven- thirds— a truly great performance. The parents of the lads and the many friends of the school, may justly feel proud of these successes, for -all goss to prove that the boys can more thin hold their own in' contests which require an J.r^ d 4f We }°fi m^ t> an ' d Strict at+enti °n to physical cultui*.
