Praise for the Christian Brothers
At the Protestant Church Conference held in Derry, Dr. Tnstam, Secretary ot the Diocesan Board of Education, said there was this difference between themselves and the Catholic Church that they had no body at all analogous to the teaching Oiders of iliat ( lunch lie unfeigned !y regretted it The example set to them by a body of men, whoso li\es were spent with selfdenying de\otion in imparting education to the young, had an immense moral and spiritual cued on most minds. Take for example the Christian Brothers ]n their system they had a pertect solution of the question of co-ordination The whole course of instruction was adapted to that end, and the splendid results which these schools-— notably in Dublin and Cork — had achieved affoided ample lustifieation of the wisdom and foresight with "which it was designed In Gcimany, in England, and in Amenca the Catholic Chinch was m a posiiion to lesist all the influences which the State oi the Progressive Party were able to bring against it, mainly through the inlluence of the teaching Oiders
