At the tallow auctions 1225 casks were offered and 800 sold. Mutton : Fine, 37k 9d ; medium, 32s 6d. Beef: Fine, 34s (M ; medium, 31s 6d. Messrs. Buxton, Balms, and Jacomb's joint catalogue consisted of 12,5(51 bales, comprising a good selection of cross'breds and fair merfnos There was a large attendance and keen competition from all quarters. Everything advanced irregrlarly Compnvinl with March closing rates merinos were 5 to 7£ per cent and crossbreds 5 to- 10 per cent higher.
