London, December 10. — At the wool sales prices were firm, with a general hardening tendency. The Ohoka clip sold at 13|d. London, December 11. — At the tallow sales 825 casks were offered and 42.") sold. Mutton — Fine, 34s ; medium, 80s (id. Beef — Fine, 34s 6d , medium, 31s. Chnstchurch, December 12. — About 11,600 bales were catalogued for today's wool sales The bulk was again of an inferior character. There was a pood attendance of New Zealand buyers. Prices ruled as follows :—: — Greasy merino, medium to good, 6Jd to B id ; do, inferior, 4d to (id ; halfbred, superior, Gd to 7£d ; do, medium, 4id to (s<l ; do, inferior, 2d to 4i<l, crossbred, superior, 3d to sd, do, medium, 2Jd to 4d , do, inferior, 2d to 3d ; longwool, 2^d to 3\d , pieces and bellies, good, 3d to 6d ; do, inferior, Id to^Hd ; locks, |d to 2£d. London, December 12. — At the wool sales prices are unchanged. Good sorts are very firm. The Avon Down clip sold at 7£d ; Takjapau, 4|d ; and Takaputone, 6id. London, December 13. — There is strong competition; prices unchanged. Sydney, December 13. — Exceptionally large catalogues are forward for the Sidney and Melbourne wool sales. Competition is animated, and prices are well maintained. The Kiatoa and Tamuma clips realised 5Jd The Bradford wool market is hardening. Common bixties, 19d; super, 20d. London, December lf>. — The wool sales have closed. Merinos, owing to strong Continental demand, regained the decline which had marked the opening of the sales. October rates were generally current at the closing. New Zealand scoureds were Id lower, and crossbreds id to id below October rates. Competition was keen, excepting for slips, which were slow of sale. The Ropeba clip sold at 7^ d. During the series 197,500 bales were catalogued, 100,000 sold for the Home markets, 87,000 for the Continent, 3000 for the American, and 43,000 bales were held over.
