(From our own correspondent.) June 12. The members of the Hibernian Society hold a benefit social on Thursday, June ].">, in aid of the widow of the late Mr. David Griffin. On Thursday, June 8, a social of a most enjoyable description was given by the Children of Mary, in aid of the Sunday school. The schoolroom was tastefully decorated. About 100 persons sat down to tea, which was splendidly served. The tea and general management were undertaken by the members of the confraternity, and their efforts were crowned with success. Thf> following contributed towards the evening's entertainment : Messrs. Bennet, F. McDonald, D. McDonald, M. Curtain, Misses MjKcnna, Healy, McGuiness, and McDonald. The Fea«t of the Sacred Heart was observed at the Church of the Sacred Heart with special solemnity on Sunday last. There was Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from High May* till the evening service. The altar of the Sacred Heart was artistically decorated with flowers. In the evening the church was well filled, the service including Vespers and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. The sermon was preached by the Rev. Canon Franklin. «. _____
