SCHOOL VACATIONS.

RANOIORA. ST. JOSEPH'S SCHOOL. • . The annual breaking up ceremony of St. Joseph's Catholic School (says the Standard) took place on Monday, the 19th inst. There was a large gathering of pupils and their parents and friends. The chair was occupied by the Mayor (Mr. C. I. Jennings). Among those present were the Rev. Father Arthur and teachers from the Marist Brothers' School. Prior to the prize distribution a musical and elocutionary programme was given by past and present scholars of the school, every item being well rendered. The examiner s report was read by the Rev. Father Aubrey. We may add that the Rev. Father Arthur was the examiner ; the report proves that the school retains its high level of excellence, as the failures were but few. The prizes were then presented by the Chairman. The following is the prize list : Christian doctrine (presented by the Rev.
