The English wheat market is firm, with an upward tendency ; the Continental is steady ; the American advancing, Russian cargoes, 31s. London quotation for hard Duluth, 3 is (Id. Sugar is very dull. Java, lls lOJd ; Gorman beet, 9s 7^d, Iron, 49s 6d. Silver, 2s 3d 11-16 d. Messrs Stronach Bros, and Morris report as follows :—: — Wheat — There has been a slightly better inquiry during the week, but there is no improvement in prices to report. Prime mil* ling velvet, 4s to 4s Id ; medium, 3s lOd to 3s lid ; prime Tuscan, etc., 3s lid to 4s ; medium, 3s 9d to 3s lOd ; fowl wheat, 2s 8d to 3s per bushel (t-acks in). Oais — Market quiet. Quotations: Milling 1 . 2s 3d to 2<? ."d ; feed, 2s to 2s o£d ; medium, Is 10} dto Is ll}d pjr bushel (sacks extra). Barley — No change to report. Prime malting, 4s 8d to 5s Id ; medium, 4s 3d to 4s 7d ; feed and a.. ding, 2s 6d to 3o 6d per bushel (sacks extra). Chati"— Market unchanged. Prime oaten sheaf, L 3 10s to L 3 15s ; medium, LIS to L 3 7s 6d per ton (hags exti\i). Potatoes— The market ib very 'tv v at present and prices have .risen considerably. Beat Derwents, L7jsto L 8 ; medium, Lo 15 to L 7 per ton (bags in). Messrs. Donald Reid and Co. report as follows : — Oait — We submitted an average catalogue, comprising nearly all classc sof feed oats. The attendance of buyers was good, and there was tair competition for s»ll the lines on offer. Best feed sold at 2s to 2s 0^ ; medium to fair, Is 10^d to Is 1U; inferior and musty, Is 4 V«i to Is 6d per bushel (sacks extra).
