CFrom our own correspondent.) A very successful entertainment was held in St. Bonaventure's Hall, Parnell, on Friday, 23rd ulto. The ' show ' was of the usual Ethiopian character, and was in aid of the buil.ling fund of St. John's Church. The Rjv. Father Kehoe olilciated at the piano, and songs, sketches, and farces! were presented by Mo^rs. Byrnes, Cullen, Hogan, o'Sulliv.m (2), and Markie (2). Miss \lelu-an aNo rendered valuable assistance in the coinediett 1 which closed the entertainment. A substantial sum was realised i'or the purpose for which the amateurs gave their services. His Lordship Bishop Lenihan, on Sunday 2.5 th, blessed the new church at Newmarket, and was present in the churjh at Vespers. His Lordship, in the course of a most forcible discourse on the subject of the education of the rising generation, took occasion to eulogise the work of the Rev. Father Kehoe, and complimented the parishioners on their possession of the Rev. Father, who, during his brief charge of the parish, had not only rebuilt the Parnell church, but had virtually built the church at Newmarket. Dr. Lenihan also complimented the Parnell choir in happy terms on their rendering of the music of the Mass produced on the occasion.
