(SPECIAL TO N.Z. TABLET.) (Per favour Messrs. Stronach Bros, and Morris.) Wednesday, April 6, 5 p.m. A very fair day was experienced at the liurnside weekly sales. There was a fair attendance of buyers, but only medium sales were effected. Sheep. — 294."5 penned. Prices showed a decline of Is 6d to 2s all round. The bulk of sheep penned were crossbred wethers, including several drafts from Central Otago, the remainder being made up of ewes from other districts, of fair to good quality. Wethers : Best crossbreds, ( .)s to 10s (id ; medium, 7s (3d to 8s 9d ; inferior, (is 3d to 7s (id. Ewks — Best, 7s Gd to 8s Dd ; medium, (is 3d to 7s (id ; inferior 4s to (is !>d. Lambs— l9oo penned. Supply very large, and greatly in advance of local demands. Quotations showed a fall of from Is 9d to 2s tid per head. A line of very heavy lambs from Ida Valley sold up to 10s 3d ; medium, from 6s (id to 7s 9d ; inferior, 3s 9d to 5s 9d. Cattle — 15G. Prices much the same as in last week's quotations. Fat bullocks, L 8 ."is to L 8 10a ; medium, L 6 15s to L73s ; inferior, L."> 10s ; cows, LH 10s to Lo 10s.
Pius — IGO penned. Quotations were in favour of vendors. Suckers sold at 7s to lls ; lip*, 13-s to 17s; stores, IBs to 275; porker, 32s to 3(is ; light baconers, 37s to 43s ; other baconcrs, 47s to Ms. There were no heavy pig's.
