AT be meeting of the D.0.L.5.0n Wednesday, August 29, alectnre wag delivered by Professor Gilray at which a number of visitors, chiefly from theSt Cecilia Society, were pres nt in addition to a full attendance of members. Tbe lecturer dealt with the " Life of Dr Johnson," and embodied a spirit of appreciation of the great literateur dealing with his hfe-long career and wi:h the gigantic works accomplished by him. Numerous witty refsrences to the learned doctor's foibles and eccentricities caused a deal of amusement among the audience who were thoroughly pleased with tbe lecture. A vote of thanks to Professor Gilray on the motion of Mr J. B. Lallan and also supported by Messrs F. W. Petre, J. F. Perrin, J. J (Jonnor and J. J. Marlow waß carried by acclamation.
