No. 58 Branch Hokitika. A meeting of the above branch was held at St. Mary's School on Wednesday, 11th inst. A good number of the members were present on the occasion. The chair was occupied by the President (Bro. Thos. Shaffrey), and the vice-chair by the Vice-President (Bro. David Bourke). The President opened the meeting with prayer, and, after a |fcod deal of business had been gone through, installed the newlyelected Treasurer (Bro. Patrick Hayes) in his office, who returned thanks for the honor conferred on him. The Secretary (Bro. E. A. Burke) in proposing a vote of thanks to the retiring Treasurer (Bro. James Liston), paid a well merited compliment to that brother for the untiring zeal displayed by him in the discharge of his duty during the time he held office, a period of three years. Bro. G. R. Farrell Seconded thevote of thanks, which being put to the meeting was carried unanimously. After several accounta were passed for payment, and contributions received to the amount of £6 10s., the meeting was brought to a close by prayer.
