The petroleum well discovered recently by a saloon-keeper of Urbana, Ohio, has been closed up on the advice of scientific authorities, who, alter a full examination, concluded that a large pool of petroleum lies in immediate proximity, and, as it it, in the centre of the city, would endanger the safety of the city by tire.
