Whangarei. —l9th ultimo, on two warrants for failing to comply with the terms of maintenance orders for the support of his three children, Fritz McPherson Dunn, alias Jack Sinclair, age thirty-eight, height ft.. 7 in., share-milker, labourer, and machinist, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, long nose, scar on back of left hand. Auckland. —26th ultimo, on Bench warrant for failing to appear at the Supreme Court on 25th ultimo to plead to an indictment for burglary, John Joseph Hodgens, referred to in Police Gazette, 1940, page 891, and Photographs, 1938, page 70; wearing a fawn overcoat and light-brown hat. He may endeavour to leave the Dominion.
New Plymouth. —24th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £6O arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his six children, William Brand, age forty, height 6 ft., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes. He may be released on payment of £2O. (See Police Gazette, 1943, page 750.) / Zl/il/AA.
Wellington.— 7th September last, for indecently assaulting Irene Jean Wilshire, age twelve, 64 Severn. Street, Island Bay, Man (name unknown), age about thirty-five, height about 5 ft. 10 in., medium build wearing a navy-blue suit and light-grey felt hat. At about 4 p.m. on above date he called at complainant’s home where she was alone and represented himself to be a doctor from the Education Department. At his request complainant undressed, and he committed the offence. No warrant. He may be identical with Man (name unknown), referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 29, as wanted for rape on Ruth Anne Hall. jrC&jTruwytO, /y
Blenheim. —l6th August last, for false "pret nces, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., Maori, medium build, copper complexion, curly black hair ; wearing a fawn-brown overcoat, a scarf with brown and white checks, and dark-brown kid gloves. He obtained chocolate, value 2s. 4d., and £3 Is. Bd. cash from Elizabeth Nevison, assistant in the shop of Russell Nevison, grocer, Charles Street, by means of a valueless cheque for £3 45., No. 368944, drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Blenheim, in favour of C. Harris, and signed “ P. Mills.” The cheque-form was from the cheque-book of Thomas Halligan, tailor, which was stolen from his shop in Queen Street on the 14th or 15th August last. The book contained four forms, Nos. 368941-944. No warrant.
Christchurch.— ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his child of whom Betty Jean Hoare, 7 Drummond Street, is the mother, Byron Johnson Miller, referred to in Police Gazette, 1944, page 2.
Dunedin.— 23rd May last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for six months in default of paying £262 7s. 3d. arrears on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Hillary Ferris Browne, age forty-three, height 5 ft. 41 in., salesman and wharf labourer, native ,of New Zealand, fresh complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes, mole on small of back, lump near right ear. Invercargill. —2oth ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of maintenance orders for the support of his wife, Mabel Catherine Wilson, and child, Albert Matthew Wilson, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 10 in., seaman and labourer, native of England, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair and eyes, “ True love,” “ Mabel,” and design on one forearm, “ My son John ” and design on other forearm, tattoo-mark on one upper arm, fond of drink. Arrears £67 11s. He signed on as a member of the crew of the ship “ Mahana ” at Lyttelton on 16th April last. He may be identical with Albert Mathew Wilson, referred to in Police Gazette, 1937, page 761. . //Uy.
