PROPERTY STOLEN.

Kaitaia. —On the 16th December last, the shop of JULIA URLICH, Wainui, Ahipara, was broken into and the following stolen : £2O in money; twelve tins of Silver Fern cigarette tobacco; twelve packets of Ardath cigarettes; and a box of chocolate bars: total value, £2l 3s. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Tony Bameka, age fifteen, height 5 ft. 7 in., farm laboured" Maori, medium build, copper complexion, straight black hair, brown eyes, good natural teeth ; well dressed brown worsted suit and black shoes ; seldom wears a ha typhoids his head down when conversing ; may be in possession of a bicycle. —2O/11/37, from the dwelling of ELLEN ANDERSON, 181 Hobson Street, a gentlemen’s doublebreasted white rubber rainproof overcoat, full belt with buckle, ‘‘ Hugh Wright ” on tag at neck; a gentlemen’s rolled-gold keyless open-face Elgin pocket watch, Roman numerals, main spring broken; a gold heavy double watch-chain with greenstone Maori tiki attached; a rough uncut opal; three old white blankets; two white bed quilts, honeycomb pattern, fringed edges; five grey blankets —one has patch on it; a ladies’ black woollen Melton cloth coat fully lined with black rayon, small fur on neck, small darn underneath collar at back of neck; a brown leatherette suit-case about 30 in. by 18 in. by 6 in., two locks ; a brown fibre-cane suit-case, about 42 in. by 24 in. by 8 in., two locks and two wooden straps; three stainless knives, l/3d. on handles; a plain-edged bread knife, “ Bread Knife ” on handle ; a ladies’ silk dressing gown with pink flowers on cream-coloured background, grey corded edges; a white silk nightdress; a gold three-bar brooch, set with two diamonds and a ruby, gold chain attached ; a gold oblong brooch, set with small white pearls, pin broken ; a padlock; some keys ; and private papers ; a. chromium-plated 6 in. alarm clock ; a pea-green working shirt, about size 5, bluish spotted patch on back; a pair of khaki shorts ; a pair of old saddle tweed trousers ; and a pair of dark denim trousers : total value, £3l 3s. 3d. Auckland. —lst ultimo, the property of MICHAEL ROBERTS, Columbia Private Hotel, Wellington, a tan leather wallet about 6 in. by 4 in., with “ J.C.” in centre, containing about thirty new Reserve Bank £5 notes ; a small silver and black coloured cross with figure of Christ on it; also a gentlemen’s very large fjtepcoat of blue cloth material with red pin stripes and white dotted stripes : total value, £154. Suspicion is attached to Doris Brown (name probably fictitious) age about twenty-five, height about 5 ft. 3 in., slight build, fair complexion, brown straight hair; wearing a white silk dress with red V-shaped pieces let into skirt, light-coloured leather sandals; and a pink soft hat; smart appearance. Complainant invited her to his room in St. Clair Apartment House, Pitt Street, and while he was temporarily absent she stole his coat containing the money, &c. When Roberts invited the woman to his room she was accompanied by a Man (name unknown), age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 8 in., stout build, dark complexion and hair ; dressed in grey trousers and dark coat, and ha was carrying a small bag ' JsL'L NVb ' Gisborne. —13th instant, the property of DAVID JOHN BARRY, Aberdeen Road, a green 1935 model Chrysler Coupe motor-car, engine No. 206068, Chassis No. 2541173, Registration No. 59,799, value £4OO. On the 24th or 25th December last, from a motor-car in Colombo Street, the property of ARTHUR WILLIAM POYNTZ, 134 Innes Road, a six-valve motor-car Audiola radio-set contained in a black steel case, fitted with Eairbanks-Morse dial which is considered to be the only dial of its kind on an Audiola set in this Dominion; value, £ls.
