Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Woman (name unknown), age about thirty, height 5 ft. 9 in., good build, pale complexion, dark curly hair; neatly dressed in a dark navy-blue costume.

Suspicion is attached to Three Men (names unknown) —(1) Age about twenty-six, heights ft. 6 in. stout build, high forehead ; wearing a grey suit, coloured pullover (no hat); (2) age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 10 in., slight build, pointed features ; well dressed in a light-coloured suit and cap ; and (3) age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, twisted mouth; wearing a blue suit, coloured sweater, with red, white, and blue lines, hat pulled down in front.

Huntly. —24th December last, from the dwelling of HERBERT FREDRICK BILLINGTON, To, Hoe, an eagle axe, two blankets, a horse-rug with purple checks, a pound of butter, a large stainless butcher’s knife, a stainless tableknife, &c. : total value, £6. Mostly identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Rodgers, alias Rogers, age about twenty-one, height 5 ft. 6 in., medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes; walks with feet turned in ; dressed in brown suit and shoes (no hat). Suspect was employed by Billington and left suddenly, after which the property was missed.

Wellington. —On the 14th ultimo, the dwelling of ALFRED PATEA OLDHAM, 4 Bay Road, was broken into and the following stolen : About seventeen £1 notes; about £6 in half-crowns ; a 55.-piece ; a 45.-piece ; two fourpennypieces, one of which has a hole in it; sixteen farthings; a number of South African (Kruger) coins ; three silver American dollars; seven half-dollars; two quarter-dollars; about fifty foreign coins; a sovereign; a ladies’ gold ring, set with two sapphires with opal* in centre; an 18 ct. gold ring, set with a diamond; a 9 ct. gold watch-chain, fetter and oval pattern ; a silver watch-chain ; two greenstone meres, one of which has a gold band ; two British war medals with “A. P. Oldham,” date, and number inscribed on them; a pair of folding pocket-scissors; a silver fruit-knife, with “ 0.W.0.” engraved on it ; a gentlemen’s 9 ct. gold band ring, with “ A.P.0.” engraved on it ; a greenstone heart, with “ Ake Ake ” engraved on it; three gold collar-studs ; three silver collar-studs ; a pair of silver cuff-links ; and a quantity of old gold and silver : total value, £46. Wellington. 23rd December last, the property of JOHN RALPH BORLAND, 21 Herald Street, Wellington, a 14 in. lawn-mower ; value, £2. Identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Smith (name probably fictitious), age about thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 9 in., medium build, dark hair; wearing dark coat and trousers (no hat). Complainant gave his mower to the suspect for the purpose of having it sharpened, but the latter failed to return it.

Wellingto n. On the sth instant, the dwelling of ANDREW GRAY CATHIE, was broken into and the following stolen : A gold bamboo bangle; a plain gold bangle (fine gold tube); a flat gold bangle, with filigree work on shoulders and diamond-shaped piece set in front, which is also set with red and green stones ; a bangle, consisting of large cloudy amethysts, set in silver, separated alternately by round and diamond-shaped dull silver medallions, pieces linked with fine chain, one medallion replaced with fine silver links; a brooch, set with an oval cairngorm, about f- in. long, raised and surrounded by gold filigree work, which has been broken and rivetted ; a ladies’ gold ring, set with about four whitish opals; an old heart pendant, consisting of a heart-shaped amethyst surrounded by small pearls; one or two fine gold pendant chains; a silver neck-chain, set with pewter and enamel heart-shaped ornament; several brooches ; a half-sovereign; and a threepenny-piece : total value, £7. Nelson.— Between the 16th and 17th ultimo, from a dormitory at Nelson Boys’ College, the property of HERBERT * WALTER WATSON, Tuamarina, a gentlemen’s gun-metal eight-day pocket watch ; and a white-metal chain : total value, £4 2s. 6d. Identification doubtful.
