Accused was a partner in a small company trading in the name “ Prudential Investments, Ltd., Auckland,” and on the 24th ultimo opened an account at the National Bank of New Zealand, Newmarket. He deposited £B, and received a cheque-book, No. S. 46,721-744, twelve of these cheques having since been received by the bank for sums totalling over £IOO. He was convicted at Invercargill on the charges referred to. and remanded for sentence conditional on his leaving this Dominion by the s.s. “ Monowai ’ ’ on the 14th ultimo. He has not complied with the condition, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest so that he may be sentenced on the charges referred to.
