PERSONS WANTED.

Mangonui. —l7th instant, on warrant of commitment to Mangonui Police-gaol for forty-eight hours in default of paying £1 7s. fine and costs for drunkenness, William Henry Dredge, alias Henry Davies, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes, anchor and two crosses on left forearm, ring on left middle finger, heart, 1917,” and “ H.D.” on right forearm, scar above each eye. Auckland. —4th ultimo, for assaulting Charles Louis Ross, Workmen’s Home, so as to cause him actual bodily harm, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., strong build, dark complexion ; dressed in a lightgrey suit and grey-felt hat, and wearing a light gold watchchain. No warrant.

Auckland. —lsth instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, John William Parry, age about forty, height 5 ft. 10 in., hotel worker, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved. Arrears to 26th ultimo, £6l ss.

Thames. —Bth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £6 Is. fine and costs for trespass on a racecourse, James Trevarthen Thomas, alias John Brady, alias John Pennell, age forty-eight, height 5 ft. 3 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes, gold upper front tooth, scar on left palm ; “ Kauaeranga,” two flags, sword, horse-shoe, “ Love,” crown, woman, child, and scar on chest; scar on left hip ; “ Lizzie ” above right knee. Taumarunui. —l4th instant, on warrant for sending a false telegram, Arthur Francis Olsen, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., slight build, sallow complexion, dark hair, thin bony features, clean-shaved ; dressed in a blue-serge suit, light-felt hat, and tan shoes. Accused sent a telegram, signed Capp, from Raurimu to Sergeant Capp, Auckland police, asking that £7 be forwarded urgently, f, . , *

Wanganui. —Bth instant, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for two months in default of paying £ls arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his children, inmates of Wanganui Receiving-home, David Bertie, alias Beatton, age about -eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer and seaman, native of Scptland, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair turning grey, grey eyes, portion of right middle finger missing; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit and felt hat. Wanganui. — lßth instant, on warrant of commitment to Napier Prison for one month in default of paying £25 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his child, Fidelis May Barron, an inmate of an industrial school, James Barron, age forty -two, height 5 ft. 7 in., carpenter and labourer, native of Scotland, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair and eyes, tip of left forefinger missing, two dots on left thumb. Christchurch. —l3th March last, on warrants for obtaining credit by fraud, (1) Ada Birchall, alias Ada May Birchall, age about thirty-five, height 5 ft. 4 in., clerk, native of New Zealand, slight build, sallow complexion, fair hair, round shoulders ; supposed consumptive ; and (2) Phyllis Berrington, alias Ida Hazel Birchall, age about thirty-three, height 5 ft. 5 in., domestic, native of New Zealand, slight build, dark complexion and hair, thin features. Accused by means of an advertisement in a newspaper obtained £9 from Margaret Roach, 38 Cranmer Square, by falsely representing that it would be repaid in weekly instalments, but wrong addresses were given, and they cannot be traced. Christchurch. — 18th instant, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of Amelia Hannah Fitzgerald, Harold Joseph Fitzgerald, age forty-nine, height 5 ft. 11 in., labourer and cook, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair going bald, blue eyes, prominent ears, right little finger missing. Arrears to 20th April last, £72 15s. His photograph is filed in the Superintendent’s Office, Christchurch.

Dunedin—Alexander Craig, failing to maintain : It has been ascertained by the Dunedin police that David or David Alexander Craig, referred to in Police Gazette, 1926, page 388, is not identical with the person wanted. (See Police Gazette, 1925, page 570.)

Dunedin. 22nd instant, for failing to comply with the conditions of his release on probation (Offenders Probation Act, 1920), William Dunlop Carnahan, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. in., steward and boilermaker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, black hair, brown eyes, scar on right side of neck and on right side.
