Frankton Junction.— Between- the 4th and sth September last, from the railway-station, a brown patent-leather portmanteau, about 2 ft. by 1 ft., containing a pair of pyjamas, a black-handled : Bengal razor, a, pair of blue socks, and six black-and-white-striped soft’ collars ; total value, £6 3s. 6d., identifiable,-the property of EDWARD ERIC WARD, farmer; , also a j brown, brief-bag with “ F.W.L.” in black on one. side, a razor in a case with “ F.W.L.” on handle, a Ford camera, and a white shirt, total value £7 10s., identifiable, the property of FRANCIS BLAIR LEIGHTON, farmer.

Wellington.— On the 10th July last the dwelling of ERNEST EDWARD HAMMOND at 5 Oriental Terrace was broken into, and the following stolon therefrom : A ladies’ gold open-face expanding wristlet watch, “ G. & T. Young ” on dial, “ N.H.” over “ 106-21 ” on back case ; value, £2O. Identifiable.

Wharf (Wellington). —Between the 7th and 17th ultimo, from a locker at the rifle range, the property of WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD RIFLE CLUB, a 22-calibre single-shot Birmingham Small-arms Company No. 12 target rifle, No. 21763, “ No. 2” on butt; value, £B. Identifiable.

Temuka.— WILLIAM CHARLES MILES’S bicycle stolen : The suspect, Charles Frederick Brown, has been arrested by the Christchurch police for another offence and interviewed regarding this offence, but no evidence resulted. (See Police Gazette, 1924, page 626.)

Timaru. —Between the 30th October last and the 9th ultimo, from a veranda at the dwelling of SAMUEL ANDERSON in Le Cren Street, a. gentlemen’s black-enamelled Osmond bicycle, upturned handles, new front forks ; value, £7. Identifiable.
