Kaitaia. —l7th July last, that a summons for failing to maintain his wife, Miriam Baxter, Herekino, may be served upon him, John Baxter, alias John Reed Baxter, alias Frank John Hodges, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 8 in., seaman and labourer, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, red hair, blue eyes, scar on right forefinger and chin ; usually dressed in a grey-tweed suit and brown lace-up boots. Takapuna.— Bth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three months in default of paying £24 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Annie McNair, Archibald McNair, age fifty-four, height 6 ft., carpenter, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, scar on left leg; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat; walks with a stoop ; slovenly appearance ; fond of drink. Auckland. — 17th instant, that a summons for failing to maintain his wife may be served upon him, William Robert Cook, alias Cooke, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes, scar on nose and over left eye, on left forefinger and thumb, and on right wrist.* (See Police Gazette, 1922, page 318, and Photographs* page 58.)

Wanganui. —loth December, 1921, on warrant for false pretences, Albert Allan Street, age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., farmer and labourer, stout build, dark complexion, black hair, dark eyes, Roman nose, slightly round-shouldered. Accused, who had a farm at Te Tuhi, obtained £lO 4s. from Sims, Cooper, and Co., meat-exporters, Palmerston North, by falsely representing that twenty-four sheep on his farm were his own property, whereas they were under a bill of sale to the New Zealand Government. Accused stole the bicycle from the Octagon and sold it to a dealer.

Gore.- 14th ultimo, on two warrants of commitment to Dunedin Police - gaol for fourteen days on each in default of paying £ll 4s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Doris Mcßean, and child, Charles Alexander Mcßean, age twenty-six, height about 5 ft.- 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, curly fair hair, blue eyes; usually dressed in a brown suit and felt hat (sometimes does not wear a hat); slouching gait; lazy and fond of drink. , ) / _
