Patea. — Since the 14th ultimo, Edward Laurence Derrett, age about fourteen, height about 5 ft. 4 in., native of New Zealand, dark complexion, blue eyes, long thin face, lame on left leg ; probably dressed in a grey suit and college cap. He was a boarder at the New Plymouth High School, and ran away accompanied by Clement Cuthbert Pulley, referred to in following paragraph. He may be in possession of one of the following described bicycles, which were stolen from Hawera : A gentlemen’s black-enamelled 24 in. bicycle, straight handles with two holes where brake has been fixed, • rat-trap pedals, carrier in front, may be branded “ Universal ” with a red lion and “ A. T. Cole ” on back bar, value £l3 10s., the property of We On, fruiterer ; and a gentlemen’s black-enamelled free-wheel 24 in. Raleigh bicycle, No. 301205, back-pedalling brake, straight handles with one black grip, rat-trap pedals, two holes in fork of front wheel, carrier in front, value £6, the property of Messrs. McGruer, Bone, and Co., drapers. He may seek employment on a dairy farm. Inquiry by his grandfather, Edward Derrett, farmer, Whenuakura.

He was a boarder at the New Plymouth High School, and ran away accompanied by Edward Laurence Derrett, referred to in preceding paragraph, and he may be in possession of one of the bicycles therein described. Inquiry by his father, Louis Pulley, contractor.

Te Awamutu. —Since the 28th ultimo, Frank Ernest Hall, age about thirty, height 5 ft. 6J in., farm labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, black hair, moustache, and beard, left eye slightly crossed ; dressed in dark trousers, slate-coloured coat, and brown-felt hat, and was carrying a sack swag. Fears are entertained for his safety, as he is of weak intellect. Inquiry by his father, Frank Hall, farmer, Monovale, who is anxious for him to be induced to return home.
