SPECIAL NOTICES.

Murder. Auckland. — About 11.10 p.m. on the 24th ultimo Sydney Seymour Eyre, farmer, Pukekawa, near Tuakau, was wilfully murdered in his bedroom by some person or persons unknown. A post-mortem examination shows that a shotgun was discharged into deceased’s left eye. A reward of two hundred and fifty pounds (£250) is offered by the Government for such information as will lead to the arrest of the murderer. Special efforts are to be made by the police to trace the offender. (P. 20/1282.)

Arson. Dunedin. — About 8.15 p.m. on the 19th July last the office of F. G. Cummings, Probation Officer, King Street, was broken into and wilfully set on fire. Any information regarding the offence is to be communicated to the Superintendent of Police, Dunedin.
