PERSONS WANTED.

Devonport.— 4th instant, for committing rape on a girl under the age of sixteen years, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-five, he ght about 5 ft. 7 in., medium build, sallow complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, round face, good even teeth ; dressed in a shabby brown suit, khaki shirt, faded-green hat, and black boots ; dull appearance. Aocu-ed committed the offence on Laura Louisa Vennall, age fifteen years and ten months, in a park at Cautley Street. No warrant.

Auckland. — 15th ultimo, for indecently assaulting Hilda Graham (age sixteen), 12 Hardinge Street, Man (name unknown), age about sixteen, short, medium build, fair freckled complexion, fair hair; dressed in khaki uniform and hat (short trousers). About 10 p.m. on above date accused followed the complainant from Queen Street to Wyndham Street, where he committed the offence. No warrant.

Auckland.—2nd instant, on two warrants of commitment to Auckland Prison for (1) three days in default of paying £1 3s. casts for using insulting language, and (2) forty-eight hours in default of paying 13s. costs for threatening behaviour, Ethelbred Jones Wolstenholme, age forty-seven, height sfc. ll£in., gum-digger, native of England, medium build, dark complexion, dark hair turning grey and going bald, hazel eyes ; usually dressed in a navyblue suit and soft-felt hat; fond of horse-racing. Auckland. —3oth ultimo, for theft of a heavy stock saddle, silver-plated under D’s, white buck-skin let into large kneepads, slit near back D, folded leather girth, value £9, the property of JOSEPH BELL, livery-stable keeper, Man (name unknown), age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., thin build, dark hair and complexion, small sunken mouth ; dressed in a dark suit and felt hat. Accused hired the saddle from complainant for 55., and has failed to return it. He was riding an aged chestnut mare with swollen legs. No warrant.

Auckl An d. maintain his wife, Charlotte Savage, 4 Murdock Road, Grey Lynn, and her two children, Francis Lane Savage, age thirty-seven, height 5 ft. 8 in., labourer and waiter, native of England, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, blue-grey eyes; fond of billiards, horse-racing, and drink.

Auckland.— 2sth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s Hauraki bicycle (recovered), value £5, the property of Harold Lange, 4 Sherbourne Road, Mount Eden, George Frederick Ross (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., curly fair hair, light-grey eyes. The bicycle was stolen from High Street, and pledged to William Rudge, by a man of the description given.

Te Kuiti.—llth July last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for three months in default of paying £l6 15s. 2d. balance of fine and costs for illegally keeping liquor for sale, Joseph Rennell, age thirty-six, height 5 ft. 9 in., labourer and bu'.cher, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes. Raurimu. —26th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £lB 165., arrears due for the maintenance of his two sons, William and Bertie McMahon, who were inmates of an industrial school, Edward McMahon, age fifty-five, height 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, stout build, fair hair and complexion ; usually shabbily dressed.

Levin.— 27th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for one month in default of paying £l4 12s; arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Annie Louisa Allen, Weraeoa, Thomas Erskine Allen, age twenty-nine, height 5 ft. 8 in., grocer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, two moles on left side of face ; usually dressed in a dark suit. Masterton.— 3lst October last, on warrant of commitment to Wellington Prison for. three months in default of paying £32 arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Mary Ann Noble, Fred Noble, age fortv-eight, height 5 ft. 6 in., cook, native of England, good build, fresh complexion, grey hair and eyes. Wellington. — 9th instant, that she may be interviewed regarding the parentage of . her illegitimate child, Thomas David Snowling, an inmate of Wellington Receiving Home, Dorothy Snowling, age about thirty, height about 5 ft. 3in., domestic, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair and eyes, artificial teeth ; pleasant. appearance.
