Auckland. —11th ultimo, on warrant for failing to comply with the terms of a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Maud Mary Shannon, 43 Summer Street, Ponsonby, Walter James Shannon, age fortyfive, height 5 ft. 10 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, strong build, fair complexion, red hair, large blue eyes, thin face; quiet manner. Arrears to 28th February, last, £3. A oopy of the minute of order is also to be served upon accused.

Accused, who was a co-owner of a grocery store at Douglas, collected £6O in which E. C. Cole and 'others were interested and converted it to his own use.

Hawera. —lßth ultimo, that he may be compelled to maintain his illegitimate son, of whom Rachael Charlotte Lash is the mother, and who is now an inmate of Wellington Receiving Home, Joseph Francis Corrigan, age forty-two, height sft. 8 in., baker, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair hair and complexion, light-coloured moustache ; usually well dressed ; quiet manner.

Napier. — Ernest Charles Worth, default of maintenance : An information has now been laid in the Napier Court charging accused with making a false representation to the Minister of Internal Affairs when applying for a passport to leave New Zealand, which application was refused. Hastings. —24th ultimo, that he may be located, and the Rev. Father George Mahoney, Heretaunga Street, Hastings, notified of his whereabouts, Edward Constable, age forty, height 5 ft. 5 in., labourer and motor mechanic, native of New Zealand, medium build, brown hair, heavy ginger moustache; right little finger missing ; dressed in a grey-tweed suit; awkward gait; stutters slightly. His wife died on the 23rd November last, and he has not paid the burial expenses.

Taranaki Stkeet (Wellington.)— -23rd ' January last, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s bicycle (recovered), value £5, the property of C. M. Banks, stationer, 11 Grey Street, J. Russell (name probably fictitious), age about twenty-seven, height sft. 10in., medium build, fair hair and complexion, thin face, clean-shaved; dressed in a grey suit and grey-felt hat; defective sight. Accused took the bicycle from Mercer Street, and sold it for £1 15s. to Samuel Walter Moult, cycle mechanic, Northland.

Blenheim. —21st ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his wife, Walter James Bowers, age twenty-six, height about 5 ft. sin., labourer and trimmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, long nose, clean-shaved ; dressed in a brown sac suit and green soft-felt hat. Complainant, Maud Bowers, St. Andrew’s Street.

Christchubch. -9th January last, on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Prison for two months in default of paying £l6 6s. arrears of maintenance due for the support of his wife, Emily Burton Smith, James Henry Smith, age twenty-five, height 5 ft. in., labourer, native of New Zealand, fair hair and complexion, grey eyes; usually dressed in a navy-blue suit. Arrears computed to 10th December last.

Christchurch. —Ist July last, on warrant of commitment to military custody for fourteen days in default of paying £1 10s. fine and costs for failing to render personal service under the Defence Act, William John Farmer, age nineteen, height 5 ft. B|in., labourer, native of England, medium build, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes.

Oamaru. —l4th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for forty-eight hours in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for drunkenness, Maurice Michael, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. in,, labourer and miner, native of New Zealand, strong build, fresh complexion, brown hair and eyes. Waitati. —l9th ultimo, for escaping from Seacliff Mental Hospital, Thomas Glover Greig, age thirty-two, height 5 ft. 8 in., strong build, florid complexion, dark-brown hair, beard, and moustache; dressed in dark-striped trousers, brown moleskin coat and vest, dark-tweed cap, and blucher boots, all of which are branded with an anchor.

Dunedin. —3rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for three months in default of paying £l7 10s. arrears due on a maintenance order for the support of his wife, Arthur George Bossward, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. 6 in., cook and fireman, native of Tasmania, medium build, dark hair and complexion, grey eyes, scar over left eye, clasped hands and star on left forearm, “ S.M.” on right forearm ; usually dressed in a dark-brown suit. Arrears computed to 10th June last. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 603.)

Dunedin. sth December last, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for illegally entering upon a guarded wharf, Alexander Williamson Crichton, age thirty-three, height 5 ft. Bin., labourer and seaman, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes; left hand has been injured.

Dunedin. —Bth ultimo, on warrant for failing to maintain his children, Joseph Robinson, age thirty-six, height sft. sin., farm labourer, native of New Zealand, slight build, fresh complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, scar on left eyebrow and below right knee; usually dressed in a dark suit and hard hat; left leg has been broken.
