DESERTERS FROM HIS MAJESTY’S SERVICE.
From the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Matiere.— loth September last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, William Pallet, alias “ Burglar Bill,” age twenty-four, heigbo 5 ft. 7 in., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair: usually dressed in a dark-blue suit. He is fond of horses, and rides outlaws at shows. Next-of-kin, Mrs. D. M. Pallet, wife, Wbangarei.
Ohakune. —10th October last, on military warrant for falling to parade for medical examination, David McGregor.
Gisborne.— James William Baikie, failing to parade for medical examination : It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that accused deserted from the s.s. “Manuka” at Sydney in February, 1917. (See Police Gazette, 1918, page 9.)
Wellington. Edwin Christopher Brazendale, failing to parade for medical examination: It has been ascertained by the Wellington police that accused is now in Melbourne. (See Police Gazette, 1917, page 713.)
Wellington. —l6th August last, on military warrant for failing to parade for medical examination, Harold Greatbatch, age twenty-three, bush contractor.
Lumsden. for deserting from Expeditionary Force, John O’Connor, age twenty-four, height 5 ft. 2in , farmer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, scar on right cheek ; usually dressed in a dark suit and cap ; pleasant manner.
Kaitangata.— 26th July last, on military warrant for deserting from Expeditionary Force, Christopher Robert Robinson, age thirty, height 5 ft. 6 in., groom, medium build, brown hair, blue eyes.
