EXTRACTS FROM NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

RESOLUTION. rfIHE following regulations were laid before the members JL of the Dannevirke Racing Club at a meeting held on the eighth day of May, 1917, at Dannevirke, with a recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. W. G. E. Frame, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33. Mr. W. G. E. Frame, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. T. H. G. Lloyd seconded, and it was resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof. The following are the regulations referred to : DANNEVIRKE RACING CLUB. Regulations. (Under the Gaming Act, 1908.) In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Dannevirke Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of

the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “ the said club ”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Dannevirke Racecourse Reserve situate at Tamaki set apart for racing purposes, and known as Dannevirke Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

1. In these regulations the words “ bookmaker,” “ racing club,” and “ race meeting ” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. 2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the part of the said Dannevirke Racecourse Reserve while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely : —• (a.) Bookmakers. (b.) AH persons under disqualification inflicted by any I’acing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Conference. (c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support. The foregoing regulations of the Dannevirke Racing Club (Incorporated) were made and passed by the members of the club on the eighth day of May, 1917, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary. W. A. Cuff, that the same be passed at once with a view- to their approval by the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33. Mr. C. A. Cuff, the Chairman of the Club and the meeting, moved, and Mr. T. Twomey, Vice-President, seconded, and it v r as resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof. The following are the regulations referred to :

METHVEN RACING CLUB. Regulations. (Under the Gaming Act, 1908.) In pursuance anti exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Methven Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said club”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the grounds situate in the District of Mount Hutt Road Board, Methven, and known as the Mount Harding Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings. 1. In these regulations the words “ bookmaker,” “ racing club,” and “ race meeting ” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. 2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the racecourse above described while the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely : (a.) Bookmakers. ( b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the New' Zealand Racing Conference. (c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support. The foregoing regulations of the Methven Racing Club were made and passed by the Methven Racing Club on the third day of November, 1915, and signed by the Chairman and Secretarv. CHAS. A. WESTLAND RACING CLUB. Regulations. (Under the Gaming Act. 1908.) IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Westland Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “ the said club ”), doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the racecourse reserve situate at Hokitika, set apart for racing purposes, and known as the Hokitika Racecourse, as the same is descrioed in the Hokitika Racecourse Act, while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings. 1. In these regulations the words “ bookmaker,” “ racing club,” and “ race meeting ” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. 2. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from the part of the said Hokitika Racecourse Reserve while

the same is used or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:— (a.) Bookmakers. (b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any racing club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated to the Racing Conference of New Zealand. (c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually consort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful visible means of support. The foregoing regulations were adopted at a duly constituted meeting of the Westland Racing Club, held at Hokitika on Friday, 29th October, 1915. W. E. WILLIAMS, Chairman of Meeting. D. J.
