Police Department, Wellington, 6th July, 1914. [URGENT] Memorandum.] EYeleigh Robbery, New South Wales, Police Gazette, 1914, pages 386 and 415. The following cablegram has been received from the In-spector-General of Police, Sydney : “ Railway robbery: Believed that number stolen notes will go Dominon to be cashed, as inquiry made by oriminal arrested Tasmania as accessory what exchange on notes would be in New Zealand. Kindly cause inquiries.” Officers in charge of districts are hereby directed to have immediate inquiry made. The managers of banks in the principal cities and towns of the Dominion are to be notified of the contents of the cablegram, and requested to communicate with the police should any number of New South Wales £5 notes be tendered for exchange.
