Devonport.— 2Bth ultimo, from the dwelling of GLADYS LIND, Domain Street, a grey-leather purse, “ Gladys Lind ” written inside, containing two postal notes for £1 each, Nos. 033493 and 033494, two half-sovereigns, and 3s. in silver. Purse and notes identifiable.

Auckland. —24th ultimo, from the dwelling of FREDERICK SOLOMAN BALLIN, dentist, Carlton Gore Road, £4O in gold. Not identifiable. Suspicion is attached to a Man (name unknown), age about thirty, height about 5 ft. Bin., strong build, fresh complexion; dressed in a darkstriped suit and dark cap. (O.R. 13/651.)

Waihi. —21st ultimo, from the Grand Junction Mine, the property of HENRY ERNEST HARVEY, battery hand, a lady’s small green purse, four £5 and two £1 notes on the Bank of New Zealand, a half-sovereign, and a receipt for £5 from the Australian Mutual Provident Insurance Company. Purse and receipt only identifiable.

RICHES, settler, a brown-leather wallet, containing two sovereigns, a half-sovereign, a George IV halfpenny, a sixpence, six penny stamps, two cheques for £5 each on the Bank of Australasia (Nos. A 14915 and A 14920, drawn by A. G. Riches in favour of H. Riches), and a receipt for a registered letter. Wallet, cheques, and halfpenny identifiable. The property of one “ DIAH,” a purse containing £3 in gold and four pennies. Purse only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Leonard Clarence McClelland, age twenty-one, height 5 ft. Bin., labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, dark complexion, black hair, brown eyes. Suspect denies the theft, and is still employed by complainant. He admits having been compelled to leave his previous employment in Wellington for appropriating his employer’s funds.

Hastings. —2sth ultimo, from outside the Public Libiarv, the property of MINDEN CLENNELL COLLINGWOOD FENWIGKE, schoolboy, Karamea Road, a gentleman’s Rudge-Whitworth bicycle, free wheel, back-pedalling brake, rat-trap pedals, No. 63170160 ; value, £5. Identifiable.

Small hole near one of the outside pockets. Weight of combined coats, about 201 b. Value, £B. Identifiable.

Palmerston North.— loth ultimo, from the dwelling of JOHN J. MARRIOTT, a gentleman’s gold hunting Waltham watch, nearly new, 9 ct. or 15 ct. ; and a gold 15 ct. or 18 ct. chain, similar to No. 26 in Police Gazette, 1911, page 2, with a gold-mounted quartz pendant and a silver sovereign-case, with “ J. M.” on one side, and “ from C. M.” on the other, attached: total value, £ls. Identifiable.

Masterton. —On or about the 27th ultimo, from the dwelling of THOMAS T. DENBEE, clerk, Cornwall Street, a gentleman’s Westbury bicycle, “ Lower Hutt ” on front-bar, mud guards, and tool-bag, narrow bent handle-bars, back tirß nearly new ; value, £lO. Identifiable.

Havelock.— 2nd ultimo, from the dwelling of THOMAS NUTT, miner, Golden Bar, two £5 notes, supposed on the National Bank of New Zealand ; a gold ring, with “ T N ” on it ; and a small brown purse: total value, £ll. Ring only identifiable. Suspicion is attached to Wfilliam McNeil, age thirty-five, height 5 ft. 9 in., miner, native of Scotland, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair; dressed in a striped green suit, soft hat, and shirt; erect walk; fond of drink.

Cobden. —Between 5 p.m,, on the 21st and 8 a.m. on the 22nd ultimo the premises of JESSE STEER, butcher, North Beach, were broken into, and four cases (each containing four dozen lib. tins of whitebait) stolen. Each tin has “ Packed by Hildebrand and Co., MawheraPreserving-works, Greymouth,” on it: total value, £l6. Identifiable.

Otira. -- S. N, DIN. AND CO.’S watches stolen : A reward of £25 is offered by complainants to any one giving such information as will lead to the recovery of the stolen property and the conviction of the thief or thieves. A further reward of £lO is offered by James Beban, licensee of the Otira Hotel, to any person who shall give such information as will lead to the recovery of the stolen property, provided it is proved that the theft took place at the Otira Hotel.
