Auckland. to Auckland Prison for fourteen days for disobeying an order of Court to pay 10s. a week towards the support of his mother, David Evans Roach, age twenty-six, height 5 ft. 8 in., carter and labourer, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, light brown hair, dark eyes, thin face, sunken cheeks, several upper teeth missing from front of mouth. He is now in arrears £2 10s.

Auckland. —7t’n ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Arthur Gollar, age twenty-two, height about 5 ft. 9 in., slaughterman, slight build, black hair, brown eyes, thumb of left hand split open at knuckle, four false teeth in front of mouth, sharp features, erect build, rather broad shoulders thrown back. Complainant, Nellie Phcebe Willis, Auckland.

Auckland. —22nd ultimo, on warrant for absconding from apprenticeship, Theodore Walter McGill, age eighteen, height 5 ft. 10 in., dark-brown hair, blue eyes, medium build, surly expression, two teeth missing from upper jaw ; dressed in dark-grey or blue-serge suit, soft green hat, and lace-up boots. He was apprenticed to his father and absconded on above date. He was arrested at the Great Barrier Island and escaped from custody. He will use every endeavour to leave the Dominion on some foreign-going vessel.

Auckland. —26th July last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for three days in default of paying £1 3s. fine and costs for a breach of his prohibition order, Walter Richard Leary, age thirty-five,height 5 ft. 6£in.,labourer, native of Tasmania, medium build, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes.

Auckland. —9ih July last, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for seven days in default of paying £2 3s. fine and costs for using obscene language, John McCarthy, age thirty six, height 5 ft. 3Jin., labourer and seaman, native of Ireland, medium build, fresh complexion, dark-brown hair, grey eyes, crucifix, &c., tattooed on left forearm, tombstone and woman, &c., on right forearm.

Auckland. —19th ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Auckland Prison for one month in default of paying £2O 13s. fine and costs for failing to keep a wages and overtime book, L. Mickolo, age about twenty-six, height 5 ft. 7 in., restaurant-keeper, native of Austria, stout build, fresh complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved. He is supposed to have gone to Queensland. He was fined £2O and costs, and paid part of the amount, leaving a balance now due of £2O 13s,

Auckland. —29th ultimo, that a summons may be served on him for failing to support his child in the industrial school, Alberton H. Collins, age thirty-two, height sft. 11 in., labourer, half-caste Maori, medium build, dark complexion, dark-brown hair, brown eyes, clasped hands over heart on inside of left wrist, star and “ The Homewardbound ”on right forearm. He was last heard of about six months ago, when he was working on the Auckland Wharf.

Tokaanu. —26th ultimo, that he may be served with a summons for supplying liquor to Maoris at Tokaanu on or about the Ist June last, James Mclntyre Watkins, age forty-five, height 5 ft. 6 in., labourer, native of Australia, medium build, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown moustache only ; fond of drink ; very talkative. His wife is a cook, and they may be employed on a station or boarding house as a married couple.

Auckland. —Bth or 9th July last, on warrant for theft of a kit of tools, value £5, the property of John Willis, carpenter, Thomas Burns (name probably ficibious), age about twenty-three, height 5 ft. 9 in., fret-h complexion, dark hair, meoium build ; dr ssed in dark suit and grey cap. The tools were stolen from an unoccupied house, and were sold by the offender to E. Lester, dealer, for £1 ss.

Auckland. —loth ultimo, on warrant for theft of a gentlemen’s metal watch and silver ohain, value 17s. 6d., the property of Thomas Skelly, labourer, Federal Street, A. Cameron (name probably fictitious), age about thirtyfive, htight 5 It. Sin. or 9 in., labourer, fair complexion and hair, medium build ; dressed in dark suit and cap. The watch and chain were stolen from complainant in the City Hotei, and were sold by offender to P. W. Fisher, dealer, for ss.

Newton. —l9th July last, on warrant for false pretences on Edward Hicks, bootmaker, M. Preston (name prob.tbly fictitious!, age about twentv-five or thirty, height 5 ft. 7 in. or 8 in, stout build; respectable appearance ; dressed in blue suit and hard-felt hat. Offender call d at complainant’s shop and purchased a pair of noots for £1 3s. 6d.. and gave in payment a valueless cheque for £2 10s. drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, Wanganui. He is supposed to have come from Wanganui,

Hamilton. — Frank Sigley, wife-desertion: It has been ascertained by Constable Rogers, Hamilton police, that offender is at present in Sydney. (See Police Gazette, 1911, page 545.)

Te Kuiti. —lsth ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Aucklaud Prison for three months in default of paving £SO 10s. fine and costs for sly-grog selling, A. Smith, age about twenty-seven, height about 5 ft. 7 in., bushman and labourer, medium build, native of Australia, slightly round-shouldered, bow-legged, quiet disposition, fair complexion and light-brown hair, clean-shaved ; was wearing a brownish-striped overcoat, and was accompanied by a quarter-caste Maori named Stewart.

Wellington. — 31st ultimo, that he may be compelled to pay £ll 10s. arrears due for the maintenance of his child in the Stoke Industrial School, Francis G. Hartnett, age forty-five, height 5 ft. lljin., labourer and traveller, native of New Zealand, medium build, fair complexion, dark hair, brown eyes, lump on first joint of left ring-finger. Wellington. —29th ultimo, on warrant for being absent wit' out leave from the s.s. “ Turakina,” J. Nodd, age thirty, height 5 ft., seaman, African negro; dressed in a grey suit and cap. A reward of £2 will be paid for his apprehension.

Christchurch. —23rd ultimo, on warrant for failing to provide for the future maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child, Leslie Jolly, age twenty-three, height about 5 ft. 10 in., miner, native of Australia, medium build, tanned complexion, pock-mark on face, blue or grey eyes, clean-shaved or may have a moustache, auburn hair ; usually wears a brown suit and dark black bat and dark grey overcoat. His relatives reside in Australia, and he will probably a'tempt to leave the Dominion. Complainant, Mary Ellen Byrne.

Dunedin. — 23rd ultimo, on warrant of commitment to Dunedin Prison for two months in default of paying £l3 ss. arrears clue for the maintenance of his cnild in Burnham Industrial School, Hugh Reid, age forty-two, height 5 ft. 4fin., labourer or buicher, native of New Zealand, fresh complexion, medium build, brown hair, blue eyes, short broad nose, mole on right side of chin, two moles on right cheek, three moles on left side of forehead. Wyndham. —About 26th June last, on warrant for false pretences, John Cockerill, age twenty, height sft. Sin. or 9 in., traveller, native of Tasmania, pale round face, darkbrown hair, dark eyes, clean-shaved, straight well-built figure ; dresses well. Offender by falsely representing that he was emploved by Campbell, Jones, and Co., cycle agents, collected £5 from Alexander Munro, carpenter, Wyndham, and applied it to his own use.
