INQUIRIES, ETC., FROM OUTSIDE NEW ZEALAND.
Liverpool (England).— lnquiry requested for James Halton, age thirty-six, height about 5 ft. 8 in., fair complexion, sharp features, top teeth missing. He left Liverpool on the 19th September, 1909, by the s.s. “Sussex” for New Zealand. Inquiry by his sister, Mrs. M. A. Roberts, Kirkdale, Liverpool. (P. 12/1071.)
South Australia. — Charles A. Hollamby, described as a contractor and builder, native of New Zealand, arrived in South Australia about two and half years ago. Description; Thirty-five to forty years of age, about 5 ft. 8 in. high, thickset build, long body and short legs, square-shaped features, rather heavy lower jaw, medium complexion, light-brown hair, small light-colour moustache, eyes well apart; usually dressed in light-tweed sac suit and soft-felt hat or cap, Last seen in Adelaide on the 29th May, 1912. May be accompanied by his wife (who is rather tall and of thin build) and a baby two months old. Charged that he, on or about the 29th May, 1912, at Adelaide, being indebted to William Osborne Haslam and his co-partners, trading as “ Globe Timber Mills Company,” to the amount of £lO and upwards—to wit, the amount of £4OO - did unlawfully
make preparations for quitting the State of South Australia with intent to defraud the said William Osborne Haslam and his co-partners of the said amount. Warrant filed at Detective Office, Adelaide.
