Auckland. — Ralph Ormston is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his illegitimate child. Description: A native of England, hawker of metal-polish, about thirty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 10 in. high, stout build, fair complexion, light-coloured moustache only ; dressed in blue coat, striped trousers, black Dr. Jim hat; fond of drink. Was gumdigging at Omahu, but left there in January last. He is now in arrears the sum of £55 15s.

Huntly. — Harry Allcock is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child. Description : A native of Auckland, a labourer, twenty-one years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. high, medium build, dark hair, fair complexion, blue eyes ; dressed in grey-tweed sao suit and skull-cap. He was brought back from Wellington, and agreed to marry the complainant on the 28th ultimo, but failed to do so, and may attempt to leave the colony for South Africa. Description : A native of New Zealand, twenty-two years of age, sft. Bin. high, medium build, dark complexion and hair, blue eyes, clean-shaved except dark moustache, round shouldered; dressed in browntweed sac suit and brown hat. On the 17th Deoember last there was due the sum of £4 2s.

Ashburton. — Percy Eden is charged on warrant with failing co provide for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child. Description: A native of New Zealand, trotting-horse trainer, twenty years of age, about 5 ft. 9 in. high, slight build, dark complexion, dark hair and eyes, long features ; dressed in dark-tweed suit and dark Dr. Jim hat. Complainant: Mary Smart, domestic servant, Ashburton.

Manners Street (Wellington).— George William Ross is charged on warrant with deserting his wife, Annie Ross, Windsor Place, since the 15th ultimo. Description: Supposed native of Auckland, hotel waiter, twenty-five years of age, about 5 ft. 5 in. high, grey eyes, fair hair and complexion, clean-shaved ; usually wears blue sac suit and black hard-felt hat. About the 18th ultimo complainant received a letter from him, posted at Fairlie, stating he had married her under an assumed name and had left her.

Alexandra. — Charles Thompson is charged on warrant with failing to provide for the maintenance of his unborn illegitimate child. Description : A native of Alexandra, a coal-miner and rabbiter, twenty-four years of age, 5 ft. 6 in. high, medium build, florid complexion, brown eyes, dark-brown hair, sandy moustache only; dressed in darktweed sac suit and soft-felt hat. Supposed to have gone to Gisborne. Complainant: Helen Swanson, domestic servant, Alexandra.
