Taubanga.—A. B. Chappell, Government Life Insurance agent, reports stolen from a paddock, on the 26th or 27th. ultimo, a bay gelding, about eleven years old, about 15 hand& high, the only white spot is a saddle-mark on back, brushes in front legs, horseshoe brand on off shoulder,shod allround; value, £B. Wanganui.—Walter Winiata, Kaiangaroa, reports stolen at Wangaehu, on the Ist ultimo, a bay hack-gelding, seven years old, about 15 hands hign, white star on forehead, brand like a Jew’s harp on one side of rump; also an old saddle and bridle; value in all, £B. Suspicion attached to Thomas Smith, who worked for complainant. Description : Colonial, a labourer, about twenty years of age, 5 ft. 9 in. high, stout build, brown hair, none on face. Supposed to have gone to Levin, or Papawai, near Greytown North.
