Deserting Wives and Families, &c.
(See Police Gazette, 1890, page 187.) Edward William Ellwood, charged with disobeying an order of the Christchurch Court, has been arrested by Sergeant F. H. Morice, South Dunedin Police, and lodged in Dunedin Gaol.

Arthur Perham, charged with disobeying a summons of the Christchurch Court, has been arrested by Constable S. Flewellen, St. Albans Police, and discharged.
George Keine, also known as Campbell, is charged, on warrant issued by the Waipawa Bench, with having deserted his wife, at Waipawa, since the 3rd September last. Description : Supposed Irish, generally employed bullock-driving, about thirty-six years of age, sft. 9in. or lOin. high, slight build, sandy hair beard whiskers and moustache, of slovenly habits ; wore brown-moleskin trousers and grey-tweed coat.
Wilson Adams is charged on warrant of commitment to Lyttelton Gaol for ninety-six hours, issued by the Christchurch Bench, in default of paying £l 3s. and costs for damaging property. Description : A native of the North of Ireland, twenty-five years of age, sft. l|in. high, medium build, sandy complexion, light-brown hair, grey eyes, sandy moustache, no beard or whiskers. Identifiable. Supposed to have made for the West Coast.
