John Black, missing friend, was killed by a fall from his horse on the Bth October, 1881, near Waikaka, New Zealand. Charles William Smith, fraudulent insolvency: Offender is said to be accompanied by a young woman named Lilly Smith. Description : Victorian, about twenty-one years of age, 5 feet 1 inch high, very thin build, fair complexion and hair, may have fringe on forehead, rather good-looking, small eyes. Boilban is charged on warrant with stealing about £SO worth of dyes, scents, and other property from the shop of Ralph Thomas and Co., chemists, Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, between the Ist and 29th ultimo. Description : A native of Dublin, speaks with a Dublin accent, about twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, stout build, dark complexion and hair, moustache and small side whiskers only, nose turned to one side from a blow; grey-tweed trousers and vest, coloured shirt, black faded rep-cloth coat, torn under each arm, and black boxer hat, flat crown. Was formerly employed at the store of the Sydney Milk Company, Sydney. Has relatives in Wellington, New Zealand.—O. 4050.—15 t July, 1883.
