(See Police Gazette, 1882, page 50.) Harry Henison, alias Cinnamon, charged on warrant with stealing a saddle and bridle at Tauranga, the property of Charles Bennett, has been arrested by Constable Robert R. Jones, Auckland Police, and sentenced to six months’ labour.

Description : English, a sailor, forty-four years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, stout build, dark hair beard whiskers and moustache mixed with grey, bullet-wound in left thigh. Stealing- gold, &c.,from the gold-mining claim of Webb and Fahey, at St. Bathans: A reward of £lO is guaranteed on conviction of the offender or offenders within six months from the 25th ultimo. The drapery-case has since been found broken open and empty about two miles from where it was stolen.

Stolen on the 24th ultimo, from the railway-line at Tcmuka, a light-coloured portmanteau, marked “Solid leather,” containing a new peper-aud-salt tweed suit, coat double-breasted, sacpattern, lined with dark tweed, clouded buttons, with two

holes ; a check shirt, and some pocket-handkerchiefs, one marked “S. J. Loring ;” the property of S. J. Loring; value £8 10s. Identifiable, except unmarked I _handkerchiefs.

Stolen on the 26tli or 27th ultimo, from the fowlhouse of Samuel Brown Parker, Clare Road, St. Albans, a white gander and a grey goose ; value 10s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 29th ultimo, from off a horse in Preece’s saleyards, Lichfield Street, Christchurch, a nearly-new double-rein bridle, plain snaffle bit with double rings, both reins buckled to the sumo ring, plated buckles, red or blue forehead band; and a pair of stirrup leathers and irons, bottoms of irons plated soled, the top hole broken off one of the leathers; the property of Robert Rutledge ; value £2 7s. 6d. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 24th or 25th ultimo, from a safe in the yard of Ann Leslie, at Lyttelton, about three dozen bottles of mixed home-made jam ; value £2.

Stolen early in April last, from the goods-shed of Henry Elliott, at Auckland, a packing-case, 2 feet by 2£ feet, marked CDF in diamond, about 2£ cwt., containing shoemakers’ tools ; value £3O. Case only identifiable.

Stolen on the 20th ultimo, from the stables of the Provincial Larder Dining-rooms, Cashel Street, Christchurch, a doublebreasted grey Irish frieze overcoat, lined with grey tweed, sleeves lined with white calico, black-bone buttons, two outside pockets and an inside left-breast pocket; the property of Joseph Cunningham ; value £2. Stolen between the 16tli ultimo and Ist instant, from the Exhibition, Christchurch, an electro-plated cup, about 8 inches high, bowl supported by a female figure, the following inscription on one side : “ Presented to R. Gould, Esq., by the Industrial Association, for the best twine made from New Zealand flax, suitable for reapers and binders the property of Rowland Gould ; value £5 ss. Identifiable.

Stolen between the 24th February last and the' sth ultimo, from a goods-case at London, or between London and New Zealand, via Melbourne, a gold watch; the property of G. Rutherford ; supposed value £25. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 23rd or 24th ultimo, from the writing-desk of Sergeant James Pearce, on board Her Majesty’s ship “ Nelson,” between Sydney and Wellington, an English silver lever hunting-watch, No. 3, maker’s name not known, indented across case from a fall, value £6 65.; a gold albert chain, curb pattern, with gold locket, portmanteau pattern, attached, value £7; and a plain gold ring, J.P. engraved on outside, and “20 W.H.” on inside, value £L 10s. All identifiable.

Stolen on the 3rd instant, from off a horse at Southbridge, a nearly-new colonial-made saddle, imitation pigskin, except seat, which is bullock-hide, “ Wellington” and maker’s name stamped under flap, common stirrup-irons and leather girth ; the property of Thomas Blair; value £5. Identifiable.

Stolen about the 28th ultimo, from the railway-sbei at Harrington’s Crossing, Southland, a parcel addresesd “Mr. Cuthbert Cowan, Benmore Farm,” containing a pair of men’s water-tight boots, size 8, newly soled and nailed ; and a pair of boys’ new boots ; the property of Cuthbert Cowan ; value £ll3s. Identifiable.

Stolen between the 24th and 26th ultimo, on board the steamer “Te Anau,” between Port Chalmers and Wellington, a silver Geneva hunting-watch, No. 26984, maker’s name not known, a long link-pattern aluminum chain with hear’t pendant mounted in gold, with mutton fish in centre of heart on both sides, attached ; the property of William Denny; value £3 15s. Identifiable. Isaac Harris, a fireman employed on board the steamer, suspected.

Stolen during the night of the Bth instant, from the verandah of the house of the Rev. Mr. Stanley, Elm Row, Dunedin, an old large square iron door-scraper ; value 15s. Identifiable.
