Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
John Daiiloreen is charged with deserting on the Bth ultimo from the barque “ Agate ” at Auckland. Description : A Russian, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, light hair, dirty complexion, smooth face, thick lips, large boil on one of cheeks, speaks a little English. A reward of £2 is offered for his arrest.
Joseph Iveiher is charged, on warrant issued by the Russell Bench, with deserting from the whaleship “ James Arnold ” at Russell on the 23rd ultimo, Description : A German, a blacksmith by trade, about twenty-nine years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, round features, light-brown hair, sandy whiskers and moustache worn short, speaks bad English ; wore strong-grey frieze coat and trousers, dirty-check vest, and soft billycock hat. A reward of £5 is offered for his arrest.
