THE FORTHCOMING ELECTIONS.
VOTING BY DECLARATION
Attention is directed to an announcement appearing elsewhere in this issue by Mr. J. Hislop, Chief Electoral Officer, notifying the fact that by Section 13 of the Expeditionary Forces Voting and Electoral Rights Amendment Act, 1919, teh only persons to vote by declaration at the General Election will be the following: — (a) Any person whose name is ruled out on any certified copy of the roll supplied to the Returning Officer pursuant to section twenty-four of the Legislature Amendment Act, 1910; or (b) any person who voted as a registered elector at the last preceding election for the district in’ which his place of residence is situated, and whose name does not appear on the roll for that district; or (c) any person who, having applied for enrolment as an elector, and having been informed by the registrar that he has been enrolled, has not been so enrolled. Absent voters’ permits or seaman’s right can be secured up to and including the day preceding the General Election, forms of application for the same being obtainable from any post office or from the Registrar of Electors.
