The Melbourne Cup winner Blue Spec was represented by two winners at the recent W.A.T.C. meeting in Perth. They captured the chief events on the programme, Blue Rain taking the Easter Handicap and Semi Blue the Osborne Stakes, weight-for-age. Blue Spec, who went to the stud in Western Australia, was owned by Mr. P. A. (“Lucky”) Connolly, and when he won the Cup in 1905 was trained by Walter Hickenbotham.
