TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club will be held on Wednesday (October 2), when the Hon. E. W. Alison (chairman) will present the annual report and bal-ance-sheet to members. The report reads: —“The committee have pleasure in presenting the annual report and balance-sheet for the year ending alst July, 1918. During the year two meetings, spring and summer (comprising three days’ racing) were held. The total stakes paid for both meetings amounted to £5770. The Profit and Loss Account shows, after allowing for depreciation, a surplus of £I32U 3s 3d., which amount has been transferred to Capital Account. The committee is pleased to report that the work of extension and enlargement of the club’s racecourse was finished in time to enable both the spring and summer meetings to be held upon it. The course has proved to be an exceptionally fine one, and although the grass had not grown sufficiently to provide a full covering of turf, the racing proved highly successful. The course will be in perfect order during the forthcoming season. Four members of committee retire, viz., Messrs. A. Alison, E. Alison, G. S. Lintott, and Major Coyle, who, being eligible, offer themselves for re-elec-tion.”
