LAMP DAY IN LONDON. —As a change from Flag Days there was a large-hearted welcome for Lamp Day on the part of the London public recently, on the occasion of the anniversary of the birthday of Florence Nightingale. The proceeds of the sales were donated to the Women’s Service Bureau Funds. The Florence Nightingale statue in Waterloo was adorned with evergreens, while Lady Cowdray, who can be seen sitting down, did a brisk business all day.
