EASTER MEETING. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) The Easter meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club was brought to a conclusion to-dav (Tuesday) in splendid weather, and' in the presence of a record attendance. The various races were keenly contested, and some capital finishes were fought out. Sir Alba won the Easter Handicap in convincingstyle There was quite a chapter of accidents in the Kimbolton Hurdle Race, but fortunately none of the jockeys were seriously injured The returns from the totalisator for the two days aim unted to £55,932, compared with £54.859 that was dealt with at the corresponding meeting last year. Tne obstacle m the straight proved disastrous to Bravest, who felt, and whilst the latter was lying in a heap Aruake stumbled over him. This left Vi with a biglead. Going around the back Flingot commenced to move up. but the gelding struck the second to last hurdle, and, coming a cropper, unseated his rider. This left Vi to win as she liked, which she did with about 20 lengths to spare from Waterworks. These were the only two horses to finish, and tne race proved a regular fiasco. The jockeys F. Cress, L. Traill, and Jerry were all more or less severely shaken, but no serious results are anticipated. They were removed to the casualty room in the ambulance. Time, 3min 21 2-ssec. The Diver and Katua, with Monologue comprised the lead coming into the straight on the first circuit, where Monologue pecked the obstacle very card and nearljr unseated his rider, who made a clever recovery. Going around the back Katua assumed the lead, with The Diver and Monologue handy. The trio jumped the last hurdle almost on terms, and in an excellent contest Monologue -won by a head, Nita half a length away, The Diver a close fourth, and Advancement last. Time, 2min 49 c. EASTER HANDICAP of 300sovs. One mile and a-quarter. 3—H. Stannard’s ch g Sir Alba, by Sir Laddo —St. Alba, syrs, 8.4 (E. Manson) 1 2—T. S. Bristol’s b g Leonta, by Conqueror—Fair Wind, syrs, 9.9 (C. When the tapes were skied Combustion began smartly and passing the

stands the chestnut was showing the way to a bunched field. Going around the railway side Combustion was still in front with Maniaroa and Square Deal coming ’fast. At the distance the field was bunched, while Leonta made a forward move, and was soon on terms with the leaders. Half-w r ay up the straight Sir Alba appeared on the scene, and when the winning line was crossed the son of Sir Laddo had three-parts the son of Sir Laddo had a head advantage, Square Deal a long neck away. The remainder of the field finished just behind the placed division. Time. 2min 8 3-ssec. REW A HACK HANDICAP of 12 Oso vs. Six furlongs. 5 — J.
