KING’S THEATRE. “-THE MIRACLE.” The presentation of a cinematograph reproduction of Professor Max Reinhardt’s mystery play “The Miracle’’ has maiked a new era in cinematography. While it is all very well to learn that there will be a full orchestra, and a large invisible choir, ic is not easy to realise the enormous difficulties which have to be overcome before such a film can be produced. Mr. Joseph Menchen (from whom Mr. Beaumont Smith has purchased tne, exclusive Australian and blew Zea land rights), who conceived the idea of cinematographing “The Miracle, ’ nad to search through many Looks of reference before he could finally discover the right castle for one of ills backgrounds. At last he decided on that one of Count Wilczek at Kreutzenstein, who very -graciousiy gave his permission for the use of his famous paiace. About 800 persons had to be taken by motor car d 8 miles from Vienna, and thence up a mountain to a place 3000 feeabove the sea level. Whilst Pechtoldsdorf is 50 miles from Vienna, and the cast outnumbered the entire inhabitants of the little town, day after day these actors had to be fed at long tables ranged in the streets. With the co-operation of M. Michel Carre, France’s most famous cinematograph producer, Mr. Menchen triumphed in the end.
