WALTER BENTLEY.
A PROJECTED TOUR. It is pleasing to learn that Mr.. Walter Bentley proposes to make a theatrical tour of New Zealand nextyear supported by a strong company. There can be no doubt but that playgoers will be delighted to again make the acquaintance, both across the footlights and socially, of one of the most brilliant -dramatic actors Australasia has yet “discovered.” WalterBentley is a name, writ large in letters of gold on the tablet of theatrical fame, and even the triumphant tour of the world-famed Shakesperian actor, H. B. Irving, leaves Bentley’s lustre undimmed; in fact, there are many New Zee. landers still ready toacclaim Bentley the finest interpreter of the greatest playwright’s characters ■ that has been seen in this country. To the present generation WalterBentley is but a name handed down with admiration—if not actually adoration —consequently, the prospect of seeing him in a selection of the most successful parts, in his remarkable repertoire augurs well for a memorable tour next winter. -
