FOXTON RACING CLUB’S MEETING.

FLINGOT WINS THE CUP. Ideal racing weather favoured the Foxton Racing Club for the opening day of its meeting on Saturday, visitors being present in large numbers from all over the district. The racing throughout was very exciting, and some very keen fininshes were fought out. Mr. Angus Keith was very successful at the barrier, his despatches being one of the features of the meeting. Mr. J. R. Whyte made an efficient judge. The totalisator handled £6852, compared with £6524 at the corresponding day last year. The meeting was brought to a conclusion on Monday in splendid weather. The attendance was again very satisfactory, there being a larger number present than was the case on Saturday. Taken all together the present fixture will rank as one of the most successful held by this popular club. The sum of £7036 was put through the machine, as against £6842 on the corresponding day last year, making an aggregate for the meeting of £13,888, compared with £13,365 in 1910.
