ADELAIDE RACING CLUB’S Meeting. At the Adelaide Racing - Club’s meeting on Saturday, the following was the result of the principal event:— THE BIRTHDAY CUP of 1300sovs. One mile and a-half. Mr. A. P. At the Albion Park races on Saturday, the following was the result of the principal event: — THE BRISBANE TWO THOUSAND. Seven furlongs. Mr. A. B. Nagel’s br c Bright Laddie, 3yrs, by Ayr Laddie—Bright Alice, 8.13 1 Mr. W. J. Tucker’s b c Mischief, 3yrs, by Birkenhead—'Miss Never, 9.9 .. 2 Orea, 8.3 3 Twenty-seven horses started. Bright Laddie won by half a head from Mischief. Time, Imin 31% sec. THE TURF IN ENGTiAND. At the Epsom Summer Meeting on Friday the following were the results of the principal events:— THE OAKS STAKES of 5000sovs, by subscription of 50sovs each. For three-year-old fillies, 9.0 each. The nominator of the winner to receive 400sovs out of the stake. The owner of the second to receive 200sovs, and the owner of the third lOOsovs. One mile and a-half. Mr. J. LEMBERG WINS EPSOM DERBY. At the Epsom Summer Meeting on Wednesday the following was the result of the race for THE DERBY STAKES of 6500sovs, for entire colts and fillies, foaled in 1907; colts 9.0 and fillies 8.9. About one mile and a-half. (382 entries). Mr. Fairie’s b c Lemberg, by Marco— Chelandry, 9.0 1 Sir John Thursby’s b c Greenback, by St. Frusquin—Evergreen, 9.0 2

Mr. A. P. Cunliffe’s b or br c Charles O’Malley, by Desmond —Goody Two Shoes, 9.0 3 Neil Gow was troublesome at the post. Greenback led, with Lemberg, Wildflower, and Neil Gow in close attendance. The positions were practically unaltered till a few yards from the post. Lemberg won by a neck, two lengths between Greenback and Charles O’Malley, Neil Gow, close up, fourth. Time, 2min 35 l-ssec—a record.
