NORTHERN WAIROA DEFEATS AUCKLAND B.

This game was played at Dargaville and was as fast and even as one could wish to see. Indeed, it was anybody’s game right up to the close. During the first spell Cox scored a clever try for the home side, which was not converted, and after that there was no other score during the match. The local forwards’ dribbling rushes disconcerted the Aucklanders, who were not so good in the open, and time after time much ground was gained thereby. Auckland came within an ace of scoring once, but were defeated by 3 to nil. Mr. H. Hockin was referee.
