IT DIDN’T WORK.
A young man applied for a situation and was refused. On leaving the office he noticed a pin lying on the floor, and stooping down he picked it up and stuck it m his waistcoat. <1 Tome back,” cried the employer, you re a careful sort of young fellow. If you’ll be here at nine on Mondav morning there’ll be a job for you.” The young man told his friends of his good fortune, and one of them, who was seeking employment, bought a sheet of pins. He took a dozen with him next day when he called at the office of another house, and as he was entering dropped them on the floor. His application was refused ! As he turned away he affected to discover the pins, and began collecting them. Here, Jones, shouted the employer, “see that young man safely out into the street. A fellow who would steel pins, would steal anything.
