TRAINING NOTES.
ELLERSLIE. SATURDAY. On Saturday morning the tracks were in good order, and a lot of useful work was got through. Before breakfast a heavy fog hung over the course, which made it very difficult to see some of the posts. Delania and Cambrian started the ba 1 rolling by running 5 furs (full distance) on the grass in 49 3-ssecs. Cadence and Maheno were not extended to run 5 furs on the grass in 1.6 2-ssecs. Celtic covered 6 furs on the grass in 1.24 secs. Necktie spurted 4 furs on the grass in 50 i~ssecs. Lady Hune, Geordie, and Swagsman finished in this order for a round on the tan in 1.58 i-gsecs. Scotty seemed to be going better than Waipuna at the end of once round on the tan in 56 3-ssecs. Dunborve and the Hotchkiss —Sister Francis filly ran 5 furs on the course proper in i.7 4-ssecs, finishing together. Kaitangata ran 5 furs on tan in i.i2secs. Omati and Landlock ran 7 furs on the tan in 1.304-55605, but could have improved the time. Uhlander, Conductor, and Puhipuhi ran 7 furs on the tan in 1.35 secs, Conductor being in front. Uenuku and another spurted 5 furs on the sand in 1.4 Stromness spurted 2 furs on the grass. Bonomiana covered 7 furs on the sand in After breakfast the fog cleared up. Jolly Tar and Japan spurted 4 furs. Pearl Necklet galloped 6 furs on the grass in 1.17 Advocate and a mate spurted 4 furs on the sand in 57 3-ssecs. Dogger Bank and Turbine hopped off at the 4 furs post and ran the distance in 48secs on the grass, Te Aroha joined them the last three furs which took 36secs, the trio finished together. Quadroon was going much easier than Port Light and Pohutu at the end of 5 furs on the sand, which took i.gsecs. Fabricator moved in a p easing manner over 4 furs on the grass in 48 2-5 secs. Lucrece and Herculean covered 3 furs on the tan in 38 3-ssecs. Octoroon and Master Clements sprinted 5 furs at top on the grass, which took 1.2 3~ssecs, and the full distance in i.4 4-ssecs, they finished together. Glenora spurted 5 furs on the tan in 1.4 i-ssecs. Cavalry, Heywood, Haydn, First Gun, Luresome, Soultfish, Cuiragno, Apollonaris, and a number of others also worked.
